In the 1880s, Joseph Fralinger opened a store on the Atlantic Boardwalk and began selling salt water taffy crafted from his own unique recipe. Deciding that all visitors should return home with a taste of the chewy treat, he began packaging one pound oyster boxes full of the confection to send off with tourists. In this way, Fralinger essentially created the first “Atlantic City Souvenir” and made salt water taffy into a household name!

Today, the candy is still created using Fralingers original recipe, but it has long expanded outside of his little Boardwalk shop! Each year, the company manufactures over 600,000 pounds of taffy. Creamy taste and smoothness have been the difference that has made Fralinger’s the first choice in taffy for over 100 years. The treat comes in 9 different flavors, and you can experience them all in this fabulous five pound assortment!
